We will be welcoming our faculty and staff back to campus tomorrow morning. Say a prayer for all of your teachers, faculty, and staff as we embark on this new learning path in 2020-2021. They all have many items to prepare and train for, including our “normal” school-related items and new training related to COVID. We are moving at full speed in your favorite schoolhouse, ensuring everything is ready for our students and families!
BASE for parents will start on August 10th drop-off will begin at 8:30 am and pick-up no later than 5:30 pm. If you are interested in BASE, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to sign-up. All students upon entry will have their temperature checked as part of the COVID entry protocol. Please make sure your child has a packed lunch and has a refillable water bottle. Also, applying sunscreen before they leave your home would be helpful.
Now for some more faculty and staff updates!
Our 6th-grade Science teacher, Mrs. Alice Allen, has officially retired, and we hope she has a fabulous retirement! However, she did promise to volunteer any time she is needed. Our very own Becca Flohre has stepped up to plate and will be our new 6th-grade science teacher! I am excited to see Mrs. Flohre in action with our new science curriculum! Mrs. Flohre will also continue to teach 6th grade Language Arts. Oh, and did I mention she is about to have a baby any day now! She is a superstar mom and a superstar teacher!
To help round off my administrative team, I have added Executive Coordinator to Lori Morgan’s long list of titles! Lori will be helping me balance the many responsibilities of running a school, such as contract negotiations and grant requirements. She does so much more and is truly an asset to the school!
Here are two great resources to use to help prepare your child for differences in the coming school year. It is important to start having those conversations now.
Stay tuned for more email updates to come!
