Middle School Transition to High School

The public school advanced academic programs have a special meeting with our students to inform them of each program’s unique characteristics. HNES students have the opportunity to go to each high school and visit/shadow during a school day to get an up close and personal idea about each program.

Some of the programs will send a representative to HNES to meet with our students and parents to personally explain the 9th grade scheduling process and answer questions. HNES students have the opportunity to earn math and science high school credits while still in middle school. In order to comply with the FHSAA rules, HNES allows our middle school students to participate in their zoned public school sports' programs.  Our students do try out for middle school sports in Bay District and are welcomed to the teams.

Our middle school students take semester exams in their core academic classes which prepares them for semester and end-of- course exams in high school. Due to the preparation our students receive in our middle school: study skills, organization, and rigorous challenging curriculum. Our students are well prepared for high school and earn academic awards at their respective schools.

Below are a few of our students from Bay High School's AICE Program, Mosely High School's MAPPS Program, Arnold's Collegiate Studies Program, and the IB Program at Rutherford High School.
